Turkish president calls on India, Pakistan to resolve Kashmir issue through dialogue
For his part, Sharif said the two sides have agreed that increased trade, investment and commercial cooperation must be the nucleus of the robust economic relationship.
Erdogan is also scheduled to address Pakistan parliament on November 17 and visit the eastern city of Lahore.
Erdogan said Turkey’s educational authorities would help Pakistan overcome any problems the expulsion may cause.
“They moved rapidly in the direction of ending the (Gulen movement’s) presence in Pakistan and toward thwarting their attempts at unrest”, Erdogan said.
“We should eliminate these bunches of killers, who have no other skill than to shed Muslims’ blood, from the Islamic world and from all over the world as soon as possible”. The Britain-based rights group said the decision would hurt Pakistani children.
Pakistan and Turkey both are fighting with terrorism together. “There is also a level of deepening Islamization in Turkey today that bears uncanny resemblances to what happened in Pakistan in the 80s”, Kugelman said. He reiterated that Islam and terrorism can not be linked together.
“It is an honour to speak you in this parliament once again”.
At the formal welcome ceremony, national anthems of the two countries were played. He expressed satisfaction at Turkey’s cooperation for Pakistan Navy’s submarine upgrade and acquiring of Super Mushak trainer aircraft from Pakistan. “We might have more than one vice president”, he said.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has long sought a presidential system that would give the country’s largely ceremonial presidency executive powers. Turkish officials have accused the school of being affiliated with the movement of USA based dissident cleric Fethullah Gulen.
“Gullen network is threat to Pakistan’ security”.
It said the staffs were asked to leave because of “non-approval of their requests for extension of visa”. “This organisation will find no shelter in Pakistan”.
Veysek Eroglu also said that the presidential and legislative elections might take place in 2019. He was accompanied by his wife Emine and a high-level delegation.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif went to the Nur Khan Airbase along with his cabinet members and senior officials to receive him. Hopefully, meaningful discussions would be held on the subject during visit of the Turkish President and an appropriate solution found.
The two sides also expressed commitment to joint initiatives at worldwide forums, in particular at the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Erdogan defended the actions Thursday, saying Gulen’s followers have been active in Turkey for more than 40 years and have infiltrated the Turkish armed forces, the police, the judiciary and all ministries.
He thanked Islamabad for its “solidarity”, and promised PakTurk students would be cared for at “the highest standards”.
