Sorry Apple, Samsung’s Note 7 Loss Is China’s Gain

Damage to the battery of a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 led to smoke emanating from a laptop bag kept in the overhead baggage compartment of a flight from Singapore to Chennai in September, as per the findings by aviation regulator DGCA. And the company suffered. On the brighter side, Samsung has a number of wonderful optimizations that allows users to choose the resolution they want on their display, be it HD, Full HD, or QHD – UHD should also make the cut in next year’s version. Yet, a refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 3 shows up in the company’s online deals for Black Friday. The South Korean giant recorded its largest ever fall in global smartphone market share in Q3, Gartner reckons. This is the case with most Samsung devices because Samsung’s research development department is situated in India.

But the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 did not happen because, for some reason, the Korean tech giant made a decision to hold back the launching of its latest flagship tablet. – And then there is BBK Communication Equipment, which went from 2.9% to 5.3%. The company did mention a while back that the program will be rolled out to China at some point, but we did not expect it to arrive so soon.

While it wasn’t the best for Samsung or Apple, the third quarter was a wonderful one for Chinese smartphone makers.
