Seattle native shines in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol share a budding romance in the flick, and for them, being in “Fantastic Beasts” was like every holiday wish come true. Since “Fantastic Beasts” takes place in New York City, United States the term for muggles change. Not necessarily. According to /Film, star Eddie Redmayne has already revealed that future films will apparently follow the formula of Fantastic Beasts and the…, which obviously evokes the titles of the Potter movies.
The story is set in the mid 1920s and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) is in NY when he literally bumps into a No-Maj (American for Muggle) called Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler).

Upon Newt’s arrival, carrying a fabulous briefcase full of fantastic beasts, we learn that the wizarding world is under threat from a renegade wizard named Grindelwald and others who frown upon magic. He said that while Newt, Jacob, Tina and Queenie “will be part of the next one”, Credence may have a larger role as the series continues.
Of course, Redmayne begged Corden not to unlatch the case, and when Corden turned around, a fantastic beast popped out and started chatting.
The real screen stealer is Samantha Morton, who plays Mary Lou, a leader of the New Salem Philanthropic Society, an extremist group that exposed and eradicated witchcraft in the 1920. “So much fun and when I heard J.K. Rowling had written her first screenplay, her first original screenplay, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s exciting.’ And I read it and every page was just intoxicating and kind of transportive”.
Movie fans can also cheer because this latest film is directed by David Yates, the man who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” movies.
