Ranking Best Big Ten Football Matchups of Week 12
The college football season is stumbling to a close with more of a whimper than a bang.
Hi everybody. The New top 4 in college football has come out and we had a shakeup that everybody is going to be talking about.
This may not be true in terms of the Cardinals’ fate in the ACC, but as for the College Football Playoff, it is pretty much guaranteed. “It’s very hard when you go through a situation like this, especially when you’re the quarterback”.
It’s clear that Clemson has little room for error.
Whether this year or another, it’s bound to happen.
Alabama has held up its end of the bargain. Their biggest claim to fame was almost winning at Clemson which, again, doesn’t hold as much weight since Pitt just went in and beat them.
If the Spartans are looking for some historical comfort, last seasons game may not even be the best analogy. In fact, in the latest AP Poll there is no other SEC team in the top 15. But before I get to that I must admit, there does exist a big monkey wrench for the committee: The Big 10 could be a big problem.
Every other conference but the SEC has cannibalized itself, which has had a positive effect on the Big Ten. (Or having Michigan lose to Indiana.) The Nittany Lions also could get into the title game by splitting its next two should the Buckeyes lose to Michigan State and beat Michigan and the Wolverines lose out.
The Big Ten East race is crowded at the top, with Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State tied at 6-1.
Although The Game, the yearly showdown between OSU and Michigan, might be the biggest game of the year for the Scarlet and Gray, Michigan State is not far behind. I understand wanting to give conference champions an edge, too.
Ohio State and MI each control their own destiny if they win the B1G.
OHIO STATE OR MICHIGAN – The Big Ten behemoths won’t have any trouble this weekend.
That leaves Washington as another possibility. Ohio State shuts down Scott in the second half and winds up winning easily.
Our Free Press sports writers make their predictions for Saturday’s Michigan State vs. Ohio State and Michigan vs. IN games. Another possibility is a two-loss Oklahoma team, should it win the largely overlooked Big 12.
So that’s the cloudy picture. Clemson defeats the Hokies and makes the Playoff. Senior linebacker Craig Fada, a former walk-on with the team that earned a scholarship, has been with the team for four years now. However, I think the defense will be able to compete somewhat with the Buckeyes. Alabama, 2. Clemson, 3. The tiebreaker scenario in that case would have favored Ohio State.
But Iowa answered for one of its worst losses in years, a 41-14 wipeout at Penn State, with a win that was more about culture than talent. After the identical thrashings his Ohio State team put on No. 10 Nebraska then Maryland the following week (both scores were 62-3), the College Football Playoff Committee rewarded the Buckeyes with a No. 2 ranking in this week’s playoff standing.
Although he’s had more than 30 games under his belt in his collegiate career, he knows Michigan State in East Lansing is a whole different demon. So this is the right call by the committee to put Ohio State at Number 2. Didnt go to a bowl game that year, but everybody seems to remember it, so, I guess thats something.. They should have a easy time of Indiana.
