Sanders wants Trump to apologize for rhetoric
Sanders told reporters that he hasn’t spoken personally to Clinton but believes she has an important role to play in the party’s future.
One problem for the Democrats is while they make the point that the economy is better off today than it was eight years ago, it has not improved for the middle class for decades, he said. There are clearly people hurting in our country who have felt ignored for too long.
“Few people in this country worked harder for Hillary Clinton than I did”, he claimed.
Mr. Sanders also said that Democrats will be prepared to work with Mr. Trump as long as he is honest about the promises he made during the campaign but if not they will oppose his economic policies and expose those hypocrisies, as reported by News Thrive.
Shahid went on to echo Ahmed’s statements: “The approach mimics that of the Tea Party”, the organizer explained, “which has used insurgent primary bids to unsettle establishment Republicans and drive the Republican Party rightward”. “But Sanders has come out fighting: appearing at rallies, delivering speeches, and offering strategies for taking on Trump and Trumpism”. Since you’re in charge of the messaging arm of the Democratic leadership in the Senate, what’s the message next time to white working-class voters, voters in rural areas that can turn that vote back to the Democrats?
Bannon, for all his hateful, bigoted beliefs, seems to have struck a chord with the president-elect, causing some to wonder if Trump favors Bannon simply because he has been carefully stroking Trump’s ego throughout the election year.
The progressive supporters who fueled Sen. “Barack Obama won these people”.
With the world reacting to Trump’s election Bernie Sanders had no shortage of words about how he thinks the entire thing happened and how he feels about the Democratic party at this time. His new advocacy organization, Our Revolution, has an email list numbering in the millions and is built off all the people around the country who volunteered for and donated to his primary campaign.
Before Sen. Sanders took the stage, he met briefly with Student Association President Erika Feinman and Executive Vice President Thomas Falcigno. He recalled what Mr. Trump said about this. Sanders has had a large impact on millennials and the politics on college campuses. Who knows. It doesn’t make much sense to me to be looking backward. “The president of the United States should not have a racist at his side, unacceptable”. Sanders tries to excuse that by claiming to be honoring the terms of his election to the Senate, but he didn’t have a problem changing his affiliation when it came to running for the Democratic nomination.
“Read a little bit about science”, he advised the president-elect. “They believe we should raise the minimum wage and have pay equity for women”.
And given that Trump won votes from voters who not only viewed him unfavorably, but thought he was merely the lesser of two evils from an unpopular slate of candidates, that in no way guarantees that these same voters would stick by him – or the GOP – in 2020. Sanders reminded the crowd. “They see Washington simply as a place of people not like them-just different, and elite, and Jewish, and gay”.
“I will not compromise with racism, and I will not compromise with sexism, and I will not compromise with homophobia, and I will not compromise with Islamophobia”, Mr. Sanders said.
