Seahawks RB Prosise out with shoulder injury
Besides Prosise, the Seahawks lost newbie Troymaine Pope to a high ankle sprain, and of course cast away Christine Michael this week via waivers to go run out of bounds for Green Bay. They’re getting healthier. Most team’s injury report get longer as the season goes on, however in Seattle’s report is the shortest it’s been nearly all season.
Prosise will miss significant time with a “scapula issue, ” according to Seattle coach Pete Carroll. He’s obviously really excited. You’d have to think it would take bogey golf from here on out to blow it.
Thomas Rawls returned Sunday from two month out with a cracked fibula.
The Eagles defense has been generally stout against running backs this season, only allowing one 100 rushing yard game (Matt Jones) so far. So, how should owners replace him? On that note, Prosise looks like a strong runner too, which should be enough to force him into a lead role moving forward in 2016.
Carroll said the Seahawks went with Boykin because they “wanted to save Thomas a little bit”.
“I saw this athlete and I said, ‘I don’t know where he’s going to play, but we’ve got to take him, ‘ ” Kelly said during a news conference a year ago. We’ve all been waiting to see that happen. He had 469 yards rushing with seven total touchdowns (six rushing, one receiving).
The team is getting healthier toward the end of the season. “He’ll have a chance to make it back, but it’s going to be a while, so here comes Thomas (Rawls) and we’ll fill it in as we go”. The previous Sunday Collins fumbled in his only carry at New England, and he has 19 yards on 10 rushes in 10 games. Chris Ivory of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Robert Kelley of the Washington Redskins are two other starting running backs who might be unowned in your league.
“Dynamic football player. I love his running style”, McCarthy said. While admitting optimism last week, let me be the first to say that hopes for Todd Gurley and DeAndre Hopkins are dimming faster than they are for the average turkey.
The play resonated with his teammates, who erupted on the sideline after seeing Prosise show a level of physical play that was sometimes missing with Michael.
Wilson and the Seahawks got banged up and throw off track early in Week against Miami.
Also returning to action after injuries are TE Luke Willson (knee) and OT Bradley Sowell (knee), the latter put in competition with Gilliam this week in practice. But he did not commit to whether Sowell will return to left tackle or if rookie George Fant will continue to start.
The Seahawks are fresh off a brilliant performance against the New England Patriots, escaping Gillette Stadium with a 31-24 win and handing the Patriots just their second loss of the year. Former Pro Bowler Michael Bennett (knee) is not expected to play.
