Ravens-Cowboys by the numbers
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback was left with a frustrated feeling after his team came up short in a 27-17 loss. With the game tied at halftime, the Cowboys engineered two long scoring drives, both ending with rookie Dak Prescott hitting wide receiver Dez Bryant for touchdown passes. “We believe in our physicality and just staying at it, not really blinking or flinching”.
The Cowboys won a franchise record ninth consecutive game, 27-17 over the Ravens. Thanks mostly to the Ravens’ good start, it produced 368 yards of offense and a season-best 7.1 yards per play.
Almost 5 minutes into the second quarter, quarterback Dak Prescott had completed only four of 10 passes for 31 yards. “It was a great win”.
This wasn’t a case of the running game making things easier for Prescott. Bryant finished with six receptions for 80 yards including two touchdowns. Two touchdown passes to Dez Bryant and another to Cole Beasley did in the Ravens (5-5).
So in the end, everybody eats.
“I can hang my hat on this little thing called nine wins in a row”, Jones said.
But it wasn’t all fun and games. The Ravens’ run game did the rest. We had to be persistent with that.
BLOCKING CAROUSEL: The Ravens protected Flacco well (one sack) and averaged 6.3 yards per carry in limited chances in the running game.
Smith caught eight passes for 99 yards and became the 14th player in National Football League history to reach 1,000 receptions.
His performance against a Baltimore Ravens defense that ranked No. 1 overall and held NFL-leading rusher Ezekiel Elliott in check was even more eye-opening. The win over the Ravens was the first with Romo as Prescott’s backup.
The prospects for WR Jordy Nelson largely hinge on whether the Packers can keep him away from CB Josh Norman and get him lined up more frequently against CB Kendall Fuller. They didn’t get any help from the officials, but they haven’t earned the benefit of the doubt, either, with sloppy play all season long. The best part, if you are one of the people who run this church, is that the church won’t have to worry about doing this until December 11, because Dallas plays on Thursday each of the next two weeks.
Until Sunday, when Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys showed how it’s done.
After that four-for-10 start, Prescott completed 23 of his final 26 passes, three of which went for touchdowns.
Justin Tucker would add a 46-yard field goal, his 30th straight. The Cowboys had a first-and-30 at their own 28-yard-line during the second quarter, and they went on to score a touchdown. He completed four of his first 10 passes for 31 yards as the Cowboys trailed 7-0 in the second quarter. Like before, Dallas capped off the 88-yard drive in 13 plays with another touchdown toss to Bryant to give the Cowboys a 24-10 lead with 11:37 left in the game. But if you’re in Dallas, it’s a day to keep track of Cowboys game score no matter where you are, and that includes church.
That’s pretty much what happened Sunday at AT&T Stadium. “It’s not unique to us”.
“At this point, it’s just part of the process of getting back”, Witten said. We’ve done preparation on them. They ran waggles, bootlegs, unbalanced lines and reverses, they flooded zones with receivers and ran pick plays. We spent some time during the bye week. “So, we’ll get all of that together here in the next few hours and have a good practice with our team”.
Dan Bailey surpassed Rafael Septien for the most Cowboys field goals made with 163. He became the 14th player with 1,000 career catches and now has 1,005 in his career. But one question – can Palmer move forward from the end of 2015 to recapture the brilliance he displayed through most of it – has been answered unequivocally.
The first half played out as the Ravens hoped it would. Jeff Locke boomed a 72-yard punt to back Arizona up to the shadow of its own goal line to begin its final gasp that the Minnesota rush would extinguish in suffocating fashion.
