Like the Jaguar I-Pace, the EQ has a range of about 310 miles, both of which beat the Tesla’s Model X’s 289-mile range and the Model 3’s 215-mile range.
Jaguar is looking to put a plug-in luxury SUV on road by the end of 2018.
The I-Pace has what auto designers call a “cab-forward” design with a short hood, possible because the nose of the vehicle does not need to house a large engine.

The Jaguar I-Pace is no pushover when it comes to performance, capable of delivering 400 horsepower of performance. The I-Pace also gets a panoramic glass roof and front and rear luggage space. For example, you can see the width of the entire floor because the centre console is cantilevered upwards where traditionally it would have been a solid construction.
Sitting high on its front haunches (an unusual deviation from Jaguar’s bootylicious roots), it nonetheless projects a brand-appropriate athletic, muscular stance, with its cab-forward design presenting an opportunity by not having an engine to worry about.
The company’s betting that its past success with sports cars and sedans will carry over into crossovers-and electric vehicles.
The I-PACE Concept transforms the electric driving experience and offers the driver-focused performance and response Jaguar is renowned for. The four wheels of the vehicle are connected to electric motors on each axle. The 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack can be charged up to 80 per cent in 1.5 hours and 100 per cent in just over two hours using 50kW DC charging. Number of modules: 36.
“I was determined from the very beginning of the project to create a design that reflected the mechanics of the vehicle”, Jaguar design director Ian Callum said in a statement.
Jaguar’s first-ever SUV is arriving on Thai shores with JLR’s new Ingenium diesel engine. This alone has increased the I-Pace’s range by up to 50km, even in freezing conditions.
