WWE Survivor Series 2017: Date, Location, and More Announced
WWE issued the following press release to Prowrestling.net on Thursday regarding Survivor Series 2017. The Undertaker for the WWE title.
I like the classic Survivor Series matches. Many experts predict that it will be Brock Lesnar’s time to shine at WWE Survivor Series 2016. From that point, it would be logical to see The Undertaker beat AJ Styles and set up a huge matchup with John Cena at Wrestlemania. The two announcers for the tournament were Daniel Bryan and Mauro Ranallo, both affiliated with Smackdown.
However, that wasn’t the case. The main event saw Andre the Giant’s team defeat Hulk Hogan’s team in a 5-on-5 elimination tag team match where Andre was the “sole survivor”. “I take one day as it is”. They also made the SmackDown team look strong here with the run-ins after the match (or rather, what drew to the no-contest conclusion). But first, he commended his conquered “WrestleMania 32” opponent Shane McMahon as, “the man who has no fear”. It seems that mania is still a long time away, but its still a few months away. Also, Sami Zayn is from Canada, and it would be a better touch if he does that in his home country. I could see Dana Brooke turning on Charlotte in this match as well.
Maybe trying to gift a scarf to the behemoth that is Braun Strowman wasn’t the best move, but Jericho continues to keep himself relevant and successfully put Team SmackDown “on the list”. Carmella and Nikki are in a feud, and Lynch and Bliss are in a feud. Who is going to win and will this be Samoa Joe’s last NXT match?
Goldberg is warning Brock Lesnar. keep your freakin’ elbows to yourself – making it clear if Brock lets his arms go insane in their upcoming WWE match, retaliation is a-comin’. There is no reason WWE will need to rush through this match. “I tweaked my shoulder last night [on Raw]…” So, perhaps the SmackDown team losing will prompt “The Phenom” to go after AJ Styles, and that’ll begin the build to the rumored one on one match at the Royal Rumble.
Will Dolph Ziggler overcome The Miz’s challenge and face Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental title at Survivor Series? Back in 2004 at WrestleMania 20, we got our wish as the bout was booked, so everything was good, right?
But the headlining match will be the return of Goldberg, who will take on Brock Lesnar in what should be a very intriguing matchup. In their previous encounter, it was Bill Goldberg getting the win at “WrestleMania XX”.
Then again, Lesnar’s crushing wins over all comers since he broke The Undertaker’s streak show that WWE seems firmly behind him, even though he doesn’t work a full schedule like most of the locker room.
But think of how much mileage WWE could get from a wounded Beast with two losses to Goldberg on his record. And in all likelihood, whether you’re excited about the 49-year-old Goldberg returning or not, it will. That kicked off a storyline where Paul Heyman challenged Goldberg to fight Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg accepted, saying that he feels has has one match left in him.
