Wal-Mart Kicks off Cyber Monday on Friday

Some of what used to be true about saving money on Christmas gifts isn’t true anymore.

Electronics chain Hhgregg announced that it will not open its 220 stores on Thanksgiving this year. This year, even more than last year, Black Friday is completely diluted with the huge deals dropping well before Black Friday.

But as brick-and-mortar stores continue to struggle against headwinds caused by the rise of ecommerce sites such as Amazon, many analysts have noted the phenomenon of “Black Friday creep”.
