Kane confirms new contract talks
If they have it, that quality Pochettino is looking for, then chances are Spurs’ academy players will play.
Harry Kane is confident that he will reach a new deal to remain at Tottenham for a number of years to come. Mauricio Pochettino’s side now lie third in Group E after collecting only four points from as many matches, and anything less than a victory at the Stade Louis II – coupled with Bayer Leverkusen beating CSKA Moscow – would render them unable to qualify for the last 16.
“I think it shows that I am doing well, for one thing”, added Kane. Even a draw combined with a Leverkusen win would doom us to a likely descent into the Europa League at the start of 2017.
“Our selection for tomorrow will be the players that are fit or not, that can play 90 minutes or not”.
“Yes a draw is enough but we will play our game (on Tuesday) to win”, Jardim said.
At home, they are unbeaten in the last 10 games, managing four victories in a row. It’s as simple as that. Anyone you think might surprise us and put together a master-class performance?
Spurs goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris, who joined his manager at yesterday’s press conference, was likewise upbeat, saying: “The fact is we’re struggling at Wembley”.
Pochettino is known for his ability to nurture young players and the relationship that was seen between Pochettino and Winks throughout the game epitomised that. “Maybe it wasn’t our best game but sometimes it is hard an aggressive team with a good plan”.
“We know that Monaco is a great team – every game they show this”. They lie second in Ligue 1, three points behind the leaders, Nice, and they have scored 39 goals in their 13 matches in the competition so far.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane continued his excellent goal scoring form in London derbys as his late brace at the White Hart Lane this weekend crushed Slaven Bilic’s side from 1-0 to give his side all three points from this game. Both will be crunch ties for Spurs but with their main man leading the line, maybe Tottenham can throw yet another spanner into the works in an already intriguing title race.
“There is nothing to worry about”.
“That is one moment in my life I can never repeat”, Winks told Spurs TV.
“Now it’s the complete opposite – we’re buzzing, we can’t wait to play again. Let’s see what happens, I feel fully committed to the club, I’m enjoying my time at Tottenham but right now I’m only focused on the game”.
There were other side issues, including Lloris’s new contract talks, which he has placed on hold while he concentrates on what is a defining period on the pitch.
