Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard defends her visit with Trump
President-elect Donald Trump is meeting Monday with Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), stoking speculation that the prominent Bernie Sanders ally could join Trump’s administration.
The presidential transition team confirmed the meeting, but it did not respond to questions on her being a potential candidate for a senior position in the Trump administration.
But, unlike nearly all of her fellow Democrats, Gabbard takes national security seriously.
Surprisingly, one of Gabbard’s biggest fans is reportedly new Trump adviser Steve Bannon.

President-elect Donald Trump met Monday with possible Cabinet nominees, as well as several network executives and anchors. “I met with President-elect Trump to continue my fight for peace, against the neocons’ continued drumbeats calling for an escalation of the war”.
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat from Hawaii, was on the list of guests slated to meet with Trump, according to multiple media reports. Miller did not provide a source for saying that Gabbard was under consideration for a post or for suggesting that the meeting was an interview.
Gabbard said she was willing to work with Trump, but would not hesitate to tell him when she disagrees with him.
On the subreddit “Political Revolution”, which was created after the Democratic primaries to promote progressive change in the Democratic party and has more than fifty thousands subscribers, the news about the meeting became quickly one of the top discussions.
She also said that she would express any disagreement she has with the business mogul, but added that they could come together on some issues. She has blasted President Obama for failing to talk about Islamic extremism and has criticized his approach to Syria …
