Seahawks likely to be without for Prosise and Pope for multiple weeks
The Packers and Vikings put in waiver claims on Michael, who, despite being the Seahawks’ leading rusher, was released on Tuesday.
Seattle Seahawks’ running back C.J. Prosise injured his shoulder during Sunday afternoon’s game versus the Philadelphia Eagles. I do expect us as the season goes on to continue to get better. Start Crowell confidently at least as a flex, and use him as one of your two starting RBs if you must. Carroll did not have an idea yet on how long the free safety may be out, but once Thomas left, Philadelphia was able to find gaps in the secondary that weren’t available earlier in the game. Now that Prosise has been diagnosed with a broken scapula, a substantial workload is all but guaranteed for Rawls moving forward. The Eagles are last in the league at third-down efficiency, converting just 33.1 percent.
Prosise flashed potential in his first start last Sunday against New England, finishing with 66 yards rushing and 87 yards receiving on seven receptions.
The 220-pound former wide receiver at Notre Dame was a surprisingly physical runner against the Patriots beyond the role of third-down, pass-catching back for which the Seahawks drafted him this spring. That’s two, and we’re really excited about that. “C.J. did a really good job”. “We will see how that works”. He had to come back out there and hang in there tough. “But he couldn’t make it so we’ll have to see how that goes”.
Seahawks fans, your summer love has returned.
It was clear that a shift was happening and Michael’s time as the primary running back was ending, despite rushing for 469 yards and six touchdowns. Rawls, in his first action since suffering a fibula injury in Week 2, carried 14 times for 57 yards.
“I don’t have any problem with playing him quite a few plays”.
Failing that, rookie Alex Collins is likely to be Rawls’ backup Sunday at Tampa Bay (5-5). Rookie Rees Odhiambo, who was something of a surprise member of the active list when the Seahawks chose to make veterans Bradley Sowell and J’Marcus Webb inactive, played a couple series with Fant out.
“George continued to grow”, line coach Tom Cable said.
Added Carroll, “I thought Thomas looked great”.
But even Wentz acknowledged there’s little that can prepare him for the experience of facing the Seahawks’ defense in Seattle.
“Yep”, is all Carroll said confirming that.
“He’s played a lot of football”, McCarthy said.
The Browns are still winless, and will be extra hungry to get their first win at home against the archrival Steelers.
