USA Today writes that while Black Friday sales continue on Thanksgiving, there are some truly great deals to take advantage of.
Over the past year Wal-Mart has aimed many deals with companies that sell smart phones and very advanced cell phones. Eastern time Friday for the first time as it aims to grab customers before its competitors do.
According to the National Retail Federation, the average American consumer will spend almost $1,000 on holiday shopping, and you can bet a good portion of that will be spent on Black Friday and the subsequent shopping days, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. At least 32 retailers repeated at least one Black Friday deal from 2015 in 2016, the study found. GameStop (Eastwood Mall), will also be closed on Thanksgiving and will open on Black Friday at 5 a.m. Sam’s Club (Niles, OH), will also not open until Black Friday.
The move comes as Wal-Mart aims to compete more aggressively with online leader Amazon.com.
This year, some stores will open from 3 p.m.to midnight on Thanksgiving Day. While 63% of American’s agreed that Black Friday does not offer the most unbeatable bargains of the year, it seems like if you are shopping in the right categories, the savings can be significant. The online promotions scheduled for Friday include merchandise such as televisions, drones and other electronic devices.
Furthermore, the online inventory has been increased by 50% compared to the past year, but that also means that lazy ones will miss out from the crowd would be even more. More retailers should follow the lead. Some stores have begun to open their doors on Thanksgiving evening, after many people have filled up on turkey and trimmings. On the Monday after Thanksgiving, known as Cyber Monday, is also a good day for shoppers to get deep discounts on clothing and laptops.
The most popular shopping day for Floridians is Cyber Monday.
In recent years, big-box retailers have been trying to edge out competitors by opening earlier and earlier. “You buy those on Cyber Monday”, Guskey said. “So maybe there’s an opportunity to get some growth there”. Described as “an interactive mystical creature that will encompass the magic of friendship”, they show up online for $69.99, but completely sold out.
