Leahy, Sanders And Welch Denounce Bannon Appointment
David Cicilline, a Democrat from Rhode Island, announced that he along with 168 fellow Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives, had signed a letter asking Donald Trump to rescind his appointment of Bannon.
But Brown said he isn’t considering withholding some of Trump’s senator-confirmable Cabinet positions, such as secretary of State, because of Bannon’s appointment. This, combined with House Republicans’ failure to stand up to this appointment, is troubling.
“Israel has no doubt that President-elect Trump is a true friend of Israel”, he said, also praising Vice-president elect Mike Pence.
Bannon has been criticized for being anti-Semitic and racist. Miller said Bannon was “someone who has embraced diversity”, and informed Welker that some of the terms used to describe the Breitbart News chair “were way out of bounds”.

Ben Shapiro, a former incendiary Breitbart writer himself, says that Bannon himself may not be a white supremacist, but “he’s happy to pander to those people and make common cause with them in order to transform conservatism into European far-right nationalist populism”.
Unfortunately, Mr. Trump’s election has already empowered white nationalists and their ilk, leading to an escalation of hate crimes committed against Muslim Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Jewish Americans in recent weeks.
Clarke (D-Central Brooklyn) expressed deep concerns over the Bannon appointment.
Will Donald Trump heed the motion to revise his appointment of Stephen Bannon?
Mr. Bannon is the former chairman of the incendiary Breitbart News website, as well as a Goldman Sachs alum, Navy veteran and early investor in “Seinfeld”.
Bannon’s appointment “will not allow the country to heal and come together as one”, the lawmakers wrote.
However, John Weaver, chief strategist for Ohio Gov. John Kasich during his unsuccessful run for the Republican presidential nomination this year, Tweeted Sunday that, “The racist, fascist extreme right is represented footsteps from the Oval Office”.
