Shoppers likely to risk fraud for Black Friday bargains

Macy’s has also announced its plans for Cyber Monday. Here’s four tips to help you shop wisely and stay within your Black Friday budget!

Walmart Spokesman, Ravi Jariwala, says the company began researching ways to make holiday shopping a more convenient experience and found moving their Cyber Monday special would be ideal for millions of online shoppers.

In 2015 online shoppers spent almost $3 billion during Cyber Monday and visited more than 4,500 retail websites and accounted for almost 40 percent of all holiday shopping.

Electronics retailer Best Buy will open their doors at 5 p.m.at stores nationwide on Thanksgiving Day, and already has posted some of their Black Friday deals on their website. Shoppers can pick from a large inventory of products including TVs, toys, smartphones, games, consoles, drones, connected home appliances and more. If you want to shop instead of nap after turkey dinner, it’s hard to know which stores will be open and which will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Some retailers started the Black Friday earlier, which for the customers it’s a good thing because they can take advantage of some good deals.

Out of those five days, the best days to shop may surprise you. In our years of covering Black Friday for 11Alive News, we’ve met groups who dress up, give specific assignments, do practice runs, and celebrate their savings. A reminder, we will have all huge doorbusters before Black Friday. Malls and department stores may be crowded and can be warm, so dress in layers so you can remove clothing if you get hot.

Then of course, there’s the traditional Black Friday, which we’re trained to think of having big deals. Stores use dynamic pricing, so as an item gets more popular, the price goes up.

As far as toys, the must-have item will only be on sale online. But a lot of stores just like Best Buy are kicking off their sale as early as now and they are doing this because they want their loyal customers to enjoy shopping especially Christmas season is fast approaching. Shoppers aren’t buying into the idea of scoring those deals on just one day.

Consumers haven’t stopped shopping during the Thanksgiving holiday.
