Oklahoma City malls open on Thanksgiving

Stores will reopen at 6am EST on Black Friday and remain open until 10 p.m. EST.

Retailers including Currys, Tesco and Argos have already starting slashing prices with week long sales on offer.

The National Retail Federal reported in its latest survey that an estimated 137.4 million us consumers are either planing to shop or are considering hitting the stores during Thanksgiving weekend. The report covers spending during the holiday, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, including online sales.

Still, there’s a good chance you can get a better deal on Thanksgiving for certain items. Whether you’re busting down doors or logging in this Black Friday there are several steps you can take to save money.

The tradition has crossed oceans and has now become part of South Africa’s shopping holiday, despite the fact that the country does not celebrate Thanksgiving. Macy’s, for example, has two sets of store hours.

Black Friday is still the “traditional” start of the holiday shopping season, but those who can’t wait to satiate their shopping bug can get their fix today.

Walmart just announced its post-Black Friday deals, revealing the upcoming Cyber Week 2016 deals that will start earlier than a year ago.

Walmart: Most open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and stay open through Black Friday.

“We believe that Thanksgiving is a time to spend with loved ones”, said Brandon Butcher, general manager at Menards.

Retailers began to change their strategies, and introduced the idea of opening their stores as early as 6pm on Thanksgiving day to avoid any issue. Make sure you know about the hours ahead of time because not every store is the same or has the same hours on Black Friday.

Dollar General: 7 a.m.to 10 p.m.

Many people are not a fan though – Mark Cordell from ourburystedmunds.com said he felt Black Friday did not have a big impact on the town. Best Buy said that members could miss out on special online deals in the early access should they miss the launch. Many stores will re-open as early as midnight on Black Friday. Best Buy will have three 2016 Black Friday doorbusters events. Old Navy opens at 4 p.m. and Kohl’s and Michael’s open at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Toys R Us: 5 p.m. Thanksgiving to 11 p.m.

– Sunnybrook Plaza: The Greatland Target will open at 6 p.m. Thursday, the same as Ulta.
