You need to watch the latest music video from OK Go
They’ve just released a new music video for a brand new song called “The One Moment”. According to Kulash, who pursued visual art in his youth and worked in graphic design before doing OK Go full-time, the band’s ambitions have shifted as their filmmaking has grown more sophisticated. And considering their most recent video took them to the final frontier of space (or at least a zero-g environment), that seemed like an especially hard task this time around.
“Those guitars are all manufacturing defects”, Kulash said.
“The song “The One Moment” is about those moments in life when you are most alive, the moments that truly matter, the moments when everything changes.” says Kulash, Jr. Just like their recent viral clips “I Won’t Let You Down” and “Upside Down & Inside Out”, it’s both intricate and elaborate, but it also incorporates the concept of the song in an innovative way. “Our videos can be very joyful, but in a buoyant kind of way, and this song needed something with a little more heart to it”. It’s incredible to watch it shift with the political context.
“[The song is about] the moment you fall in love or the moment you make a big decision, so we wanted to shoot the whole video in just one moment”. “They’re looking for adventure. I think people enjoy that challenge”.
An image of the Morton Salt Girl holding her signature umbrella is shown at the end of the video, which also includes the url for the campaign’s web site.
The band OK GO has been shocking the internet with it’s insanely creative music videos since the 2005 hit, “Here We Go Again”. The video was shot inside a moving plane and shot without a single cut. As far as what’s next, one thing Kulash mentions is a VR production the group is working on for the Oculus headset. Though he quickly adds, “it’s working for us”.
