Rookies lead Cowboys to 10th straight, 31-26 over Redskins
The Cowboys would love to put their rivals in a deep hole in the NFC East race. But Dallas answered with touchdowns each time the Redskins got within a score on Cousins’ passes of 5 yards to Jordan Reed and 67 yards to DeSean Jackson, who had 118 yards receiving.
Dallas has won nine consecutive games on the way to a 9-1 mark. The Eagles? After an 0-3 start, they’ve fallen to 5-5, and look like the “favorites” to end up being the only NFC East team without a playoff ticket. But like all great chmpionship sides, they managed to find a way to win. “We saw him really doing a good job after contact – getting those extra two, three, four yards”.
That touchdown was scored by Alfred Morris, who took over for Ezekiel Elliott on the game-winning drive after Elliott had a fumble recovered by right tackle Doug Free. Cowboys 27, Redskins 20. The Cowboys have won nine consecutive games – the longest single-season winning streak in team history – and have gained at least 400 total net yards in eight games in a row, tied for the longest streak in National Football League history (2007 New England and 2013 Denver).
The standout cornerback stepped in front of Adam Thielen to pick off the pass and returned it to set up Prater for his fourth game-winning field goal late in games this season.
Green Bay at Philadelphia: Injuries continue to devastate the Packers and it’s getting to the point where Green Bay can not stop anybody.
It is unheard of for two rookies to be so dominant, but Prescott and Elliott could both make a case for NFL MVP so far this season.
Cowboys: It’ll be a “regular” seven-day week with a visit to Minnesota next Thursday. The Cowboys coverage in these areas hasn’t been their strongest area, and so the Redskins will want to exploit it at every opportunity.
