WWE stunner fallout: Goldberg full comeback? Brock Lesnar downgrade?
Vince is obviously confident he can get Goldberg to work Wrestlemania 33 at a price similar to what he paid him to work Survivor Series on Sunday. “And in the Royal Rumble match, everyone is NEXT”. The event will take place at the Alamodome, an enormous stadium in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to the event, the fight with Lesnar was supposed to be a one-time deal. In the span of 86 seconds, he dispatched the Beast Incarnate with two Spears and a Jackhammer. The favorite to win the match is still “The Demon” Finn Balor, who has been sidelined by an injury ever since winning the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2016. He speculated that Lesnar might interfere in The Royal Rumble match, causing Goldberg to be eliminated.
The fans in Toronto bought the hype-totally marking out for Goldberg during the intro. It was evident that Goldberg looked physically less dominant than Lesnar and found to be losing the game. However, fans are met with disappointment when the match barely lasted 2 minutes.
Okay now we fast forward to 2016, Brock Lesnar is working part time so the next time we see him will probably the Royal Rumble. Following his 86-second disposal of Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, the 49-year-old former champion has dangled an opportunity to have a title-run before his career truly winds down. Since there’s another threat that Goldberg might face in the form of heavyweight Roman Reigns.
The bigger picture however, is what the creative decides to do with Goldberg. “As Stephanie McMahon said, the road to the title is through the Royal Rumble”. Nobody knows what the promotion will decide. The cost for one night is usually more than an entire cable bill for the whole month, but it’s still worth it to many fans!
There are many ways the WWE can take the story because as Taz says, “Goldberg has his number”.
