The Wall Street Journal found that many big retailers have trotted out the same items on their Black Friday circulars for four years running.
Not all stores will open their doors a day early on Thanksgiving. These numbers include in-store as well as online shopping and represent an increase from 58.7% or 135.8 million people a year ago. Many deals are high in demand and low in quantity on Black Friday and Thanksgiving, so get to the store early and know exactly which product you’re heading for first. This year shoppers are expected to find 52,000 sale items, compared with 49,000 from last year.

Black Friday at Walmart will be the biggest of all time. Sears will be open from 6 p.m.to midnight today and from 5 a.m.to 10 p.m. on Friday.
Black Friday is a special event for the entire family to get the best deals. But the 520 stores inside have the option to open on Thursday. But Black Friday is no longer the frenzied shopping experience it once was thanks to deals from online retailers. HHGregg opens its physical stores at 7 a.m., for example, and the likes of Home Depot, T.J.Maxx and Barnes & Noble will also welcome in-store Black Friday shoppers.
Walmart is one store that will be jam-packed on Black Friday-one of the busiest times of the year for retail.
As the Wall Street Journal notes, Amazon is aggressively trying to make Black Friday a proper shopping holiday in Europe, despite the fact that the continent doesn’t celebrate the North American holiday of Thanksgiving. The same number say they’ll start shopping in stores at 10 a.m. or later, and 16 percent haven’t even decided yet.
