Conor McGregor now wants to own a piece of the UFC
Conor McGregor has demanded a share of the UFC ownership after becoming the company’s first two-weight world champion.
Households will be charged $60 to watch the fight, and reports this week in NY claim, that the UFC could break the two-million mark for the first time.
Midway through the second round, McGregor unleashed another combination and this time there was no way back for Alvarez.
McGregor also announced he is to become a father next year, before delivering a message to the UFC brass in his post-fight press conference.
Well, prior to the event, McGregor said he’d be making a big announcement after the card.
Wrestling legend Levesque was ringside at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night to witness McGregor make history when the Irishman defeated lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez inside two rounds.
His victory against Alvarez broke a series of records as UFC arrived at the Garden for the first time and came back to the state of NY after a 19-year gap following a change in legislation.
The knockout came late in the second round – the fifth knockdown of the fight proving to be the end of Alvarez short title reign.
An aggressive Alvarez landed three right hands, but was then sent into the fence by a McGregor counter. “I’ve ridiculed everyone on the roster”. Bring me on board for real, not just as this. I just want to have this baby and take some time’. “The double-champ does what the [expletive] he wants!” I want an equal share. Conor is already the highest paid athlete in the sport but he’s looking forward with a more businessman-view, influenced by his impending fatherhood. “He [Alvarez] should not have been in here with me”, an elated McGregor, who celebrated by holding the Irish flag, was quoted as saying by The Sun.
