Montreal Impact-Toronto FC match sets record for TV audience in Canada
The MLS Easter Conference Finals start at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The conference final was a timely place to reverse that trend.
U.S. midfielder Bradley lifted Toronto within 3-2 in the 73rd minute, aided by a centering flick from Altidore and a set-up flick by Tosaint Ricketts before his right-footed smash.
The return leg will be on November 30 at 7 p.m. ET. I was disappointed with the result, but we will do everything to qualify to the final.
And things got even worse for Toronto just two minutes later.
“Because we weren’t good with the ball they were able to take up higher positions up the field; we didn’t force them to have to get back into defensive position”. “It wasn’t looking good there for a while”.
Four minutes later Toronto were again buzzing inside the Montreal box.
“It’s extraordinary. I would not have predicted such moments when I crossed the Atlantic to come here, “said Impact defender Hassoun Camara, who made the jump with the Impact in 2011 before his transfer The NASL to the MLS the following year”.
“Nothing went how we would have liked tonight”.
It was a comedy of errors here Tuesday, as Toronto FC suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the rival Montreal Impact in a game delayed more than 40 minutes thanks to an embarrassingly narrow penalty box that required repainting. “It doesn’t become easier just because we’re at home”.
“This was my last game here, so now let’s focus on the final”, said Drogba.
Legendre said the Impact took full responsibility for the mistake.
The result also provided a measure of how much the team has moved on from past year to this. That’s a tribute to the character, the belief of this group.
“[Toronto] got the second game at home”. TFC needs to score while Montreal proved that it can be risky if given the chance to counter.
Away goals are key in aggregate goals series because they are the first tiebreaker, so Montreal won’t want to concede one. “The support has been great all year, hopefully we can reward that by getting the job done next week and heading on to MLS Cup”.
“We’ve been here before in terms of the scale of the game, but we can also learn from that because we didn’t win that series against Club America”, said Montreal captain Patrice Bernier of Brossard, Que.
“We haven’t played many games that poorly”, Vanney admitted. Or does he plan to go with the same starting lineup for a sixth straight game? One goal can switch this up fast.
