Black Friday opening times for stores in COS

Anchor stores, such as Target, have external doors and will be able to open whenever they choose. As Black Friday shoppers have decreased, retailers still expect sales to increase by about 5 percent. Kohl’s has an additional Black Friday savings event on the store’s website beginning November 21.

Target is also offering some great online sales this year. It wasn’t until major changes in technology came about that Black Friday became one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Some stores will be opening Thanksgiving evening but others will be closed for Thanksgiving. Some retailers start days, or even weeks, before Black Friday when slashing their prices to get a head start from their competitors.

Another part of the Black Friday sale is Cyber Monday, which the revenue beat out Black Friday earnings past year making it the biggest online shopping day in history.

Here is a Black Friday 2016 guide for the sales hours for both online and in-store and deals that Walmart, Target, Best Buy and others has published for the start of the holiday shopping season.

“Each year about 40 percent of consumers begin their holiday shopping before Halloween…” They can be very bad because there are way too many people in one spot and it is often the case that someone ends up getting hurt. Some doorbuster deals on this special shopping day are so small that profits are minimal.

Number crunchers say consumers are better off waiting until much later in the season for the biggest bargains on clothing but they say the best time to shop for TVs are Thanksgiving, Black Friday and beyond.

Sears is advertising Thanksgiving hours from 6 p.m.to midnight, though the company says some stores will be closed on the holiday. To have a longer holiday, workers usually call in sick the day on the next day of Thanksgiving.

Retailers are braced for an online and in-store onslaught as they offer up Black Friday deals in the battle for Christmas shoppers, who are facing the threat of steep price hikes in the New Year in the wake of the pound’s post referendum slump.

JCPenney opens at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and remains open until 5 p.m. Friday.

Ramon Avila, a marketing professor at Ball State University, said the resistance to open on the federal holiday really is about the employees.

Unfortunately, it is the case that Thanksgiving Friday sales will not be officially released for at least a few more weeks.
