Davis has 45 points, leads Pelicans past Timberwolves
For a change of pace, Jrue Holiday was quiet, scoring just 7 points on 8 shot attempts. The Minnesota Timberwolves are averaging 104.1 points on 45.6 percent shooting and allowing 103 points on 46.3 percent shooting.
“Coach has believed in me since I’ve been here”, Covington said.
“We just came out and played hard right from the jump”, Frazier said. The only way we can get through this little slump is together.
He tied the game with 18 seconds to play in regulation with a follow shot, and his tip-in of Holiday’s miss in overtime gave the Pelicans the lead for good.
Though his Defensive Real Plus-Minus was only 0.94 last season, Holiday was a steady defender on the floor on a roster without many.
The Pelicans have been 5.1 points per 100 possessions better offensively with Davis at center (105.8) than with Davis at power forward (100.7).
New Orleans overpowered the Atlanta Hawks in the first quarter and kept piling on.

“That’s how we win games”. “It always feels great”. “He just came out there and he led us”.
This is one of the teams the Pelicans can pass in the pursuit up the West’s Standings with a win. The losing streak began last Friday when they saw a fourth quarter lead slip away in the final minutes against the Hornets after Dwight Howard was ejected.
It happened in the first quarter when Davis hustle to save the loose ball but accidentally hurt his knee after diving into the seats on the stands.
Anthony Davis, who entered as the NBA’s leading scorer, played just 9 1/2 minutes before banging his right kneecap against a courtside chair while hustling to save a ball from going out of bounds in the first quarter. I am careful as to what I download or play on my devices and I take my time and do research for every game. “It’s an MVP performance”. And then you looked up and he had a 38-16 on 56 per cent shooting, with three blocks, eight trips to the line, a pair of threes and only two turnovers.
Despite the struggles of the franchise, Davis seems settled with the team that drafted him back in 2012 and wants to help the franchise improve and get back in the playoff picture. In his first three games, the Pelicans are playing great and again, they haven’t lost a game since his return.
Despite being without Davis, the Pelicans went up 49-19 with four minutes gone in the second quarter was ahead 66-44 at halftime after making 6 of 11 shots from behind the 3-point arc.
