After the turkey, some hit the shops to start holiday season
One local shopper says people watching on Black Friday is a fun tradition shared with her family.
“It was a lot calmer yes”.

He says residents can make a difference by shopping for garland and other seasonal decorations at farms, farmers’ markets, roadside stands and nurseries instead of big box stores.
“I haven’t been here in some years now so I figure I’d come catch the deals”, Sheilds said.
In addition, many people stopped in to pick up PlayStation 4 and X-Box One consoles.
“Soon as the doors opened we had customers coming in. We are newbies. We were a little intimidated because we didn’t know what to expect”, said Reynolds.
Empty nesters Dave and Angela Eden found themselves at almost the end of the long line just before opening of Menards early Friday morning.
General Manager Mike Warner said he credits shoppers to understanding their ticket voucher process, and patience for making things so smooth.
Bricks and Mortar stores are looking to extend offers up until Monday just like its online competition, stores are also expected to stay open earlier with trading to continue later into the evening to help entice shoppers into the stores. The retailer said customers could shop online if they like.
“I love the experience”, Debbie Lambe from Lesage said.
“It will be the busiest trading day of the year”, Argos CEO John Rogers told Reuters.
Her Black Friday shopping was finished online, and she feels this is what many chose to do this year. In other words, it’s the best day of the year to go shopping, just as long as you’re wearing lots of protective clothing and don’t mind fighting in the aisles.
