LSU fired Miles on September 26, just four games into the season, before promoting Orgeron as interim coach. Sources tell the website that the school will immediately turn its sights to Herman, who has a 22-4 mark in two seasons at Houston and has always been a favorite among several influential Longhorns boosters.

Now Orgeron has his second full-time head coaching job at the Division I, FBS level.
The search is winding down, and leaders expect to make a decision by Sunday, but that’s contingent on Herman’s interest in a Texas head coaching job that’s not yet open.
