Black Friday Deals Excite Holiday Shoppers
Do people spend more money because they think they’re getting a deal, or are they truly getting a deal? It’s her second Black Friday shopping trip, and she came back to score some big deals. Stores are trying to better cater to savvier.

Walmart’s Black Friday 2016 sales has not yet concluded, and the Arkansas-headquartered retailer already announced that will be producing a live stream online show for Cyber Monday 2016.
Target reported more than 60% of its online sales came from mobile customers, while Amazon reported mobile orders on Turkey Day exceeded Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday a year ago.
Both Target and Wal-Mart, two of the country’s biggest brick-and-mortar retailers, said Thanksgiving online sales were some of their best ever.
Online shoppers in the US made $1.2 billion of purchases via their phones and tablets on Black Friday, marking the first billion-dollar mobile shopping day in USA history, according to estimates from Adobe.
She and her husband, who are restaurateurs, came to the Cranston mall for fun, to soak up the experience and maybe find a few deals, but they said they plan to do most of their gift shopping online and at locally owned shops where they live in Bristol, R.I. “I’m not gonna wait in line for it”.
Meanwhile, in-store traffic is expected to fall 3 to 4 percent for Black Friday once final numbers are published, according to analysts at Cowen and Co., though this number will be offset by a 20 percent increase in online customer traffic.
In that same vein, Target plans to jump the Cyber Monday gun by offering discounts starting Sunday.
So what does this mean for Cyber Monday shoppers this year?
It’s busy on any typical Friday, but on Black Friday, the mall was even more swamped with shoppers out looking for discounted items.
“If you go early, you get first pick”.
“Not having to deal with people everywhere!” she said.
“If the deals are there, I’ll be there”, Heckman said.
Slightly more than one-fifth of those planning to shop for gifts on Thanksgiving weekend will be shopping Thursday, about the same as a year ago, according to an annual survey.
In the majority of visits to retail websites on Black Friday, Mobiles were at 55 percent, of which 45 percent coming from smartphones, 10 percent from tablets.
Based on a Market Track study of holiday circulars, Walmart is offering an average discount of 39 percent, compared with 35 percent past year.
Black Friday recorded online sales of $3.34 billion, 21.6 percent higher than a year ago.
“We like the environment, the momentum”, the elder Pineda said as he sat on the mall floor next to several bags filled with the family’s Black Friday haul.

“Yes, because I may not make it to the store, with the kids”, said Meyer.
Looking beyond this weekend, the NRF projects November and December retail sales – leaving out autos, gasoline and restaurants – will total almost $656 billion, almost four percent greater than the sum of retail business from the same months previous year. A survey from the NRF found that 74 percent of consumers were expected to venture out on Friday this year.
