‘No Man’s Sky’ developer breaks long silence with update news
One was that they had fled the planet to avoid the deluge of criticism pouring in about the game. Though these patches did not add anything major to the game they addressed and fixed a number of common and critical bugs.
Finally, a tweet from Hello Games appeared yesterday stating that the development team has been hard at work on the new Foundation Update. More specifically, this update lays the groundwork for bigger changes.
Following No Man’s Sky’s less than ideal release, there was an nearly violent outcry from fans about a number of promised features missing from the game. The November 25 announcement highlights the attention given by the company to positive or negative feedback it received from disappointed fans.
This post marks the end of a period of silence from Hello Games, interrupted recently by a hack of the developer’s Twitter and email accounts. It’s also meant to introduce some elements that will serve as a foundation for future things to come. At least for the sixty or so people who are still actually playing No Man’s Sky at this point. It promised endless space exploration – hop in a ship and jet from planet to planet at your leisure. This time, it’s No Man’s Sky. Let us know in the comments! Even worse than the product itself was the way that Hello Games reacted to this backlash. Can you ever return to your creations?

No Man’s Sky has had one of the most impressively tumultuous launches for a video game in recent history.
