Bears’ Fox denies QB Cutler is out for season
“So right now he is day-to-day”.
Cutler wasn’t present during the portion of practice open to the media and didn’t participate. “Tear is kind of a broad term”, Fox said when asked if Cutler has a shoulder tear. It is believed he tore his labrum, and now the Bears must turn to Matt Barkley to lead them the rest of the way. Olivier Vernon had one of the Giants’ four sacks and JPP stole the show, his total matching the amount from the eight games he played last season after recovering from his injury. For some reason, the Bears just haven’t been able to put together a full game this season and they dropped to 2-8 on the year.
“Matt’s been in big spots”, said coach John Fox. “He understands what it is to be a good teammate and he’ll do everything he can to be as prepared as he can if he in fact becomes the starting quarterback”. Despite once being viewed as a first-round pick, Barkley dropped to the fourth round. Cutler was completing just 59.1 percent of his passes, his worst since 2012.

With six games left in the regular season, the Giants have the best record among the non-division leaders.
It was a not a pretty start on Sunday for the New York Giants.
“I don’t want to blow this up out of proportion and look back and say ‘Woulda, coulda, shoulda, ‘” Barkley said. But I’m preparing like I’m starting.
The defense then took the field for the first time after a rather shaky first half, giving up a lot of secondary room and open gaps for the Bears RB to fly through. “I thought I made it and it went outside the left upright”.
While it may feel like a loss to be without Cutler, some fans in Chicago could be forgiven for being happy to see him go. Not only did they lose Cutler for five weeks earlier, but they lost Hoyer, and their original third quarterback, Connor Shaw, suffered a broken leg in preseason.
Still, Barkley’s college experience as a four-year starter at USC provided plenty of exposure to big games and pressure-packed moments.
“I’m just proud of the way the guys are finding ways to win”.
Last week, New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo stunned onlookers when he chose to go for it twice on fourth-and-short yardage, with his team converting one of those two attempts in a one-point win over Cincinnati. He had the talent to be one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League, but a combination of never having a solid offensive line for too long, and not having the right kind of attitude to overcome hard situations, resulted in his lackluster career perception, even if he’s had quite a lot of good moments.
