Cody Kessler to be shut down for the season?
“Trust me, this is tough”, Hue Jackson, in his first year as coach of the Browns, told reporters Monday on his weekly conference call.
While young talent such as Corey Coleman, Terrelle Pryor and Gary Barnidge provided some spark on offense, it was once again that orange-colored human sieve of an offensive line that has gotten quarterback after quarterback AFTER quarterback killed this season.
“The message is that we wanted to score, because scoring produces wins”, Tomlin said Monday.
“We’re going to continue to have each other’s backs, ” he said. “I get it, but it would be nice if that process gets going”.
On a bitter blustery day, where throwing was hard, Bell finished with a season-high 146 yards rushing as the Steelers improved to 2-3 on the road and avoided an embarrassing loss to the NFL’s worst team. Staying consistent and keeping their team hungry is the best thing head coach Mike Tomlin, defensive coordinator Keith Butler and offensive coordinator Todd Haley can do. “I hate that. I don’t like it”. They kept them out of the end zone for a while, but we have to apply pressure and score points. Said Jackson after a game when Kevin Hogan became the sixth quarterback to throw a pass in a game: “I don’t like losing”.
“You definitely need something to boost you, especially when you’ve been on a four-game skid like we’ve been on”, Harrison said. “We’re not going to complain about that”. There is really nothing further really to talk about at this point.
“It’s always a concerted effort”, left tackle Joe Thomas said.
Among those additional tight ends was Chris Hubbard, who saw more than a dozen snaps coming into the game as a tackle-eligible blocker.
The Cowboys (9-1) punted on their first four possessions a first this season against the NFLs No. 1 defense. Thomas is in his 10th and has been to nine Pro Bowls.
“You’ve got to lie in the bed that you’ve made”, Thomas said, via The Chronicle Telegram. “I just go out there and lead by example, go out there and do it and hope guys see that and they’ll want to follow suit”. We just have to improve. He continues to impress people in the National Football League community with his commitment to changing his mindset going from a QB to a potentially great wide receiver.
Jackson believes the players are pressing to avoid going winless.
“Everything that could have gone wrong for that team, did”, Stanton said.
Each member of the Browns is dealing with the strain differently.
“Trust me, this is tough”, he said. Well we won that game, one I thought we were supposed to win, an AFC North game at their place in hostile weather and environment. “But more than the discussions, I think that it needs to move in that direction and move relatively quickly”. “I don’t care if you’ve got to hold these dudes”. It doesn’t limit him from a special teams standpoint, as you can reference his three special teams tackles. You just have to get up and deal with it.
“He won’t be back out there until he is medically cleared to return”, Hue Jackson said. His hiring in January was celebrated by fans, some of whom have already turned on him.
Fortunately for Jackson, he still has player support. “Short preparation, the body gets short rest, and as a lineman, we go out there 71 plays (against Cleveland)”. For the life of me I can’t understand why Bill Belichick was in such a hurry to send this guy packing.
“It probably wasn’t until the last month of the season that we really started addressing the elephant in the room”. “I wish we would have gotten it last week at home”. “I don’t want us to be the only ones to go down as the 0-16 team, but I feel for those guys”.
Robert Golden remains listed as the starting strong safety on the depth chart, but there is little doubt rookie Sean Davis has soared past him.
“This is bullcrap. We can’t keep doing this and we can’t keep getting our guys hit”.
