Google Android 7.1 to Roll-Out on Nexus Devices on December 6

The phone was part of the Android developer preview program and has received the Android 7 Nougat update.

The new feature can be found under the Moves section in the settings page.

Nexus variants may get the OTA updates on December 6. The roll out of update will complete by December 20. With the new update, Google is implementing December 5, 2016, Android security patch according to Vodafone. The ten thousand users will receive the update over a span of 3 days. From day 4-13, an additional 10 percent of owners will qualify for the update. The affected devices get stuck in a bootloop – an endless cycle of restarting – when the update is installed. The Android 7.1.1 Update will have a download size of 650MB.

It looks like the update will also land on the Nexus 5X and the Google Pixel and ixel XL smartphones at the same time. If everything goes according to plan, the final version will eventually be seeded to the Huawei Nexus 6P, LG Nexus 5X, Pixel C, as well as the Motorola Nexus 6, HTC Nexus 9 and Asus Nexus Player.
