Mauricio Pochettino Declares Spurs Ready For Decisive Monaco Clash
Harry Kane’s late brace earned a 3-2 win for Tottenham at home to 10-man West Ham on Saturday, extending the only unbeaten record in the Premier League.
West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang insisted the players will have stay positive despite the gut-wrenching 3-2 loss to Spurs in the Premier League on Saturday.
Dean, already known to be the most zealous official when it comes to enforcing this season’s directive to clamp down on grappling in the box, penalised Spurs’s Vincent Janssen for impeding Winston Reid in the 67th minute at White Hart Lane.
England worldwide Kane said: “What a win, it looked like it would be a disappointing afternoon”.
Kane’s status among Tottenham fans is unparalleled and his contribution on the pitch has been enormous since breaking into the first team in 2014.
“He is back”, said Tottenham manager Pochettino of Kane.
Tottenham’s hopes in all competitions are tied to Harry Kane, as nobody else has shown that they can score consistently.
The England global started his first game at White Hart Lane since September when Kane suffered a serious ankle injury after scoring the victor against Sunderland.
After a week in which more doubts have been raised about his future at White Hart Lane, Harry Kane provided two resounding answers to those who may have been tempted to question his commitment to the Tottenham cause.
A deflated Obiang said after the game: “We were very upset in the dressing room after the final whistle”.
Winks didn’t allow his emotions to get the better of him as he gave a strong performance, looking confident in the team and throughout the game.
Tottenham’s penalty was won by substitute Son Heung-Min, whose cross had set up Kane for the equaliser.
West Ham had led twice, through a Michael Antonio header and Manuel Lanzini penalty, either side of Harry Winks’ goal for the home side on his Premier League debut. “We have in front of us Monaco, a very good team we know that”. But we would have been lying if we had said on 88 minutes that we were looking to win. “Our player slides and Son was waiting for the contact”.
What’s worse is that the goals don’t come from just one source, with seven separate players scoring three or more goals. It’s a tough schedule.
