Trump warned not to pick Romney

The former MA governor and 2012 Republican Presidential candidate is reportedly still in the running for Secretary of State, competing against more familiar Trump allies, like former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

“Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney”, wrote the adviser, Kellyanne Conway, who was also Trump’s campaign manager.

President-elect Donald Trump will be back at the saddle Monday in NY as he looks to decide who will fill the integral appointments in his cabinet as concerns about a possible secretary of state choice rise and the distraction of a recount vote in Wisconsin, and possibly other key battleground states, set to press on.

“There is plenty of evidence that Mr. Trump is a con man, a fake”.

Mitt Romney is not the only name in the running for Secretary of State.

“Kellyanne chatted with the president-elect in advance of going out and offering her comments and asked her permission if it was OK to go and voice her opinions in the matter and he said go for it”, Jason Miller said Monday on Fox News’s “The Kelly File”.

“But I actually think Mitt Romney went overboard”.

President-elect Donald Trump’s transition has been a public spectacle. Instead, it appears she’s simply being loyal to President-elect Trump and acting as a spokesperson of sorts for the Romney haters in the Trump base. In a memorable speech from March, Romney said Trump was “playing the members of the American public for suckers”. “He gets a free trip to the White House and all we get is this lousy hat”.

Trump has already discussed offering Romney a position in his cabinet.

But the former MA governor now appears willing to set aside his distaste for Trump.

The air conditioner manufacturer responded on Twitter by saying it has had “discussions with the incoming administration” but had “nothing to announce at this time”.

But it’s clear not everyone is as happy with the “team of rivals”-style selection as Trump”.

Trump’s eschewing of protocol is a concerning sign, given his utter lack of foreign policy knowledge and experience.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is considered a leading candidate for the job, and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton and Tennessee Sen. Trump said on Twitter shortly after Petraeus, a retired general, left an hour-long meeting with the Republican victor of the November 8 election at Trump Tower in Manhattan. But his reputation began to unravel while serving as Central Intelligence Agency director.

Petraeus, a former Central Intelligence Agency director who oversaw military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, previously faced charges of removing and retaining classified information as part of his romance with biographer and lover Paula Broadwell.
