Gilmore Girls: Cheryl Strayed is ‘gobsmacked’ by the Wild references
A little backstory: Gilmore Girls creator/writer/producer/goddess Amy Sherman-Palladino created the lore of the Final Four Words when she revealed that she had always known the dialogue that would close the series. Jess. Though there is a moment in the revival where it appears Jess is longing for Rory and we know that he was the one to convince her to start writing her own novel, they never get together. She said on a press tour in July that she hopes people don’t fast-forward to the end of the story to hear those final four words. Even though Rory (completely horribly) never remembers to end things with Paul (even as she’s sleeping with other people), he does finally break up with her, via text message, minutes before the end of the final episode, “Fall”.
Lauren tried to avoid reading the final script for the series as she didn’t want the experience to end, even though the final words weren’t even in the script.
The revival that nearly the entire world has always been waiting for has finally aired; “Gilmore Girls” revival is now available on Netflix. Emily stands Lorelai up for a session, and Lorelai opens up to their therapist about her father’s death. I’m not sure if it’s the same ring from when they were engaged during the original series, but it’s so sweet nonetheless. Below is a rundown of all the notable cameos from the Gilmore Girls revival.
Since the series ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, we asked Bledel if she would be interested in continuing Rory’s on-screen journey into motherhood. “To pick it up again felt really kind of inevitable”, Graham said about her character as Lorelai. Rory’s piece has garnered her the attention of some shots publishing houses, though they keep postponing their meeting with her. There was a lot of that with Lorelai and Emily, from their big fight after Richard’s funeral to their final conversation about needing money which was a virtual word-for-word reenactment of their first scene in the pilot.
“I voted for Hillary”, says Graham with a sudden bruskness. At the time she offered her take on the possibility of more Gilmore Girls, it sounds as if the episodes had yet to drop.
The “first offering of the Gilmore Girls” revival is a treat for all fans which have missed the show because nearly everything about the premiere seems meant to make the followers feel nostalgic.
“Gilmore Girls really is about families and community, and I think that has a lot of importance and resonance today”.
