Michigan Certifies Trump as Winner of State’s Presidential Race
President-elect Donald Trump has a 10,704-vote majority over his Democratic rival in MI, which makes it the closest presidential race in MI in more than 75 years.
The Department of Homeland Security has said it has not seen any evidence of Election Day vote hacking.
Claims of wide-scale voter fraud have been advanced for years by Republicans, though virtually no evidence of such improprieties has been discovered – especially on the scale of “millions” that Mr Trump claimed.
Pennsylvania Republican Party chairman Rob Gleason said in a statement: “Our General Counsel has reviewed the Election Contest and said it is totally and completely without any merit”.
For one, it would be highly impractical.
“You would need to have hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people conspiring with insiders and with one another”, Weiser said. Even so, the Clinton campaign doesn’t expect anything to change.
The head of Virginia’s Department of Elections is rebutting President-elect Donald Trump’s claim of “serious voter fraud” in the state.
“The motivation is that if we don’t start speaking up about the election, the difficulties and the irregularities… it certainly isn’t going to get any better”, she continued. There’s more wrangling to come, though, on the final vote count for this contentious campaign. The totals also were certified by New Hampshire’s secretary of state. Spreading Trump’s statement, a risky conspiracy theory and convenient lie, would be irresponsible.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the November 8 presidential balloting by 71,000 votes in Pennsylvania, and – unless a large-scale cyber-attack on the state’s election system is uncovered – it will be hard to alter the overall voting results. State Department of Justice attorneys filed briefs Tuesday arguing that Stein hasn’t shown how a hand recount would change the election’s results.
Green Party former presidential nominee Jill Stein on Monday defended her decision to raise money for recounts in three states despite lack of evidence that any fraud occurred.
To win the Electoral College votes, Clinton would have to win all three states.
The recount is set to take place in Wisconsin, and potentially in MI and Pennsylvania. We are not counting dead people’s votes. Stein is aiming for recounts in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and MI.
“It’s were the votes counted?” said Seattle Stein supporter Jody Grage, who worked on the Green Party’s presidential campaign.
