Aamir Khan takes to smoking! Find out why
To which Mr. Perfectionist said, “Azad is very small”.
Dangal releases on 23rd of December. “I can’t predict how much time will it take”, Aamir told reporters here at an event of “Dangal”.
Not called Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist for nothing, Khan insisted on first gaining weight to play an elderly wrestler and then lost nearly 30kg to play the same character at a younger age in a record couple of months.
The initial phase was very strenuous, but with a lot of hard work and dedication, the Dangal actor made it to the desired look. It stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. The actor goes on to actually gain 97 kilos to look like a pot bellied old man and then loses 25 kilos within 5 months to get a chiseled look. He said it wasn’t an easy task, nor was it healthy for the actor but Aamir pulled it off. Siddharth Roy Kapur (of Disney India and co-producer) was there too, and he asked me, ‘How long?’ In my head I was thinking 10 years (smiles)! He consulted dietician Dr Nikhil Dhurandhar from United States of America, who gave him a customized calorie-deficit plan.
Though, those intending to follow in Khan’s footsteps should take care that the actor went through just a drastic weight loss because of of shortage of time. He said: “I had fun putting on weight but it was also the most uncomfortable”.
Dangal is a truly sports drama film directed by “Nitesh Tiwari”, produced by Aamir khan, Kiran Rao, Siddharth Roy Kapur; and starring Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
