Google Can Generate Up To $4 Billion From Pixel Smartphones: Morgan Stanley
Business Insider, which reported the numbers, says Google will sell 5-6 million of these phones in 2017, and towards the end of the 2016, it will generate around $2 billion sales from Pixel devices.
Another recent report hints at the success and popularity of the Google Pixel phones, according to which in just over a month, Google has managed to garner a 10 percent market share in India’s premium smartphone segment. So despite the fact that Google’s phones aren’t called Nexus anymore, it definitely looks like the company’s notorious handset distribution issues from the past few years have not gone away at all. The research note states apart from Pixel phones, Google will profit from “Android user monetisation”.
Google Pixel Phone is rated as one of the top smartphones despite not having an elegant design.
The Google Pixel is nearly half as profitable as the iPhone’s 41% margin, according to estimates from Morgan Stanley. The two smartphones also come with a highly rated camera similar to iPhone 7, in addition to having the company’s voice-driven digital assistant. This means the duopoly of its Android rival Samsung, as well as Apple’s iPhone line-up, has been given a bit of a jolt.
The iPhone 7’s back was full of scratches and dents while the Pixel’s remained largely undamaged. In October, Apple’s market share was 66 percent while Samsung’s was 23 percent in India.
Samsung has good news to all Android users this holiday season. Verizon vz then included the Pixel in its free-with-trade-in offer on Black Friday, along side the iPhone 7. Furthermore, the screenshots only get the dimension and color distortion you see above when they’re taken from within an iPhone app, not on the iPhone’s homescreen. And if we are to assume that the same update cycle continues, the next Pixel phones won’t arrive before the second half of 2017.
