Woman shares Thanksgiving with teen she accidentally invited
It all started weeks before Thanksgiving when Wanda Dench sent an erroneous invite to Jamal Hinton that was originally intended for her 21-year-old grandson.
After Mr Hinton posted the exchange online, forgetting to remove Ms Dench’s number, she said she recieved hundreds of supportive messages.
The text somehow ended up on Hinton’s phone and he jokingly asked if he could still stop by for dinner.
“If you have an opportunity to do something kind for somebody, please, please do”, Dench said when talking about the events on CNN’s “New Day” on Friday. “That’s what grandmas do”.
Hinton posted the screenshots of the conversation to Twitter, which was shared by his best friend and subsequently shared almost 200,000 times.
Forestry officials are keeping a close on a potential rain forecast this week in Pickens County, but they’re not betting on it just yet.
“Well, it’s happening”, Dench told The Arizona Republic on Thanksgiving.
Do you remember the story we told you about last week of the grandmother who accidentally texted a stranger inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner? “But then they came rushing in”. Because we’ve got some right here for you. It was a simple gesture that gave everyone “the feels” and won over the internet.
Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench didn’t even know each other a week ago. A reporter also tweeted the couple meeting for the first time, writing: “The most anticipated #Thanksgiving dinner of the year!”
Hinton was especially touched by Dench’s kindness. “You remind me of my mother – she was a lovely soul”.
Hinton sent his own picture in response.
Jamal shared the sweet encounter on his Twitter page.
