Snoop Dogg Stopped by Italian Customs With $422000 in Cash
Snoop Dogg – whose real name is Calvin Broadus – is scheduled to play the Kendal Calling festival in northern England on Sunday.
Snoop Dogg has had half of a sum of $422,000 (approx £270,000) in cash confiscated by Italian police following his recent concert in Calabria in the far south of Italy. What the what?! The limit a traveler can carry across borders within the European Union is about $11,000, so Snoop was way beyond that!
Snoop Dogg was stopped by customs officers in Italy.
Mr Parisi said the money came from concerts the rapper had performed around Europe. “There was no crime; it was just an administrative infraction”, said Andrea Parisi, his lawyer. The rapper was reportedly questioned and tested for suspected drug use with authorities saying the test results would not be available for some time. They are taken to the station for physical examination, that is, they have to leave a urine sample.
After the arrest, Snoop accused Swedish police of “racial profiling” and went on several social media rants.
In a series of Instagram videos, Snoop detailed how he had been briefly detained in the town of Uppsala last weekend on suspicion of possessing marijuana after a show on Saturday.
