The document said that Russian Federation will continue to bolster relations with China and strengthen its military positions in the Asia-Pacific region, which Moscow regards as strategically important to its foreign policy.
“Our efforts are aimed at support of traditional values of a family”, said Vladimir Putin.
“If some people consider themselves more “developed”, better-educated or even more intelligent than someone else, they should treat other people with respect – this is only natural”.
Trump, who takes office in January, has also said he’d like to warm frosty ties with Russian Federation, speaking by phone to Putin since winning the election last month. Please see our terms of service for more information.
He said: “We have delivered macroeconomic stability, preserved our financial reserves”.
“Washington has introduced the majority of the anti-Russian laws, and still it doesn’t pay the costs”, he said.
“But we won’t allow any infringement on our interests and neglect of them”, he warned, adding that Russian Federation is “ready for cooperation with the new American administration”, and hopes to team up with the U.S.in combating global terrorism.
Putin also stressed Russia’s growing ties with China, holding them up as a model for a “world order built not on the idea of domination by one country, no matter how strong, but on harmonious consideration of all states’ interests”. “We have a shared responsibility to ensure national security”.
Putin emphasized that he is not interested in disputes or making new enemies, and wants to normalize relations with the US, Efe news agency reported. “We welcome aspiration of the leadership of this country to develop economic ties with Russian Federation, to launch joint projects and programs”, he noted.
Putin expects the mutually beneficial cooperation would continue to expand with new large-scale projects in trade, investment, energy and high technology.
Putin did address criticisms from the EU as well, seeming optimistic about increased relations between European nations and Russian Federation in the future, “I’m convinced that this conversation is possible with states of the European Union, where there is growing demand for an independent, subjective, political and economic course”.
Putin mostly focused his speech on economic and social issues, saying that the Russian economy is on the way to recovery, pointing at a growth in some sectors of industry and agriculture.
“During the call, the two leaders discussed a range of issues, including the threats and challenges facing the United States and Russia, strategic economic issues, and the historical US-Russia relationship that dates back over 200 years”. I’m convinced that such dialogue is possible with the the European Union’s states as well, where an independent subjective political and economic policy is in growing demand. “This is what we see judging by election results”.
