Colts’ Andrew Luck practices in full but remains in concussion protocol
The Colts are preparing for the elements that they could be facing on Monday night.
The Jets have gone 7-2 against the spread in the past nine meetings with the Colts, who trail the Houston Texans (6-5) by one game for the division lead.
“I feel great”, Luck told reporters after practice.
Safety Clayton Geathers (concussion) wore a red jersey as he works his way back through the league protocol. However, Gang Green comes in riding a three-game win streak over the horseshoe.
G-Denzelle Good (neck): The team’s starting right guard was a full participant on Wednesday. The Colts number one target is fifth-year man T.Y. Hilton and the Jets must figure out a way to limit him. We have to practice we have to improve.
Luck has an .4 million cap hit this year with the Colts.
If Luck indeed does play Monday, the Colts will have a great chance to knock off the fledgling Jets. The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Indianapolis Colts 28-7.
Luck was sacked by Tennessee outside linebacker Derrick Morgan and defensive lineman Austin Johnson at the 11:46 mark of the final period, and his head bounced off the Lucas Oil Stadium turf.
Jets center Nick Mangold, who hasn’t played in four weeks because of a severely sprained ankle, participated in individual drills during the early stages of Wednesday’s practice.
They won’t spend almost as much time scoreboard watching over the weekend.
LIGHTS OUT: The Colts were once a good bet in prime-time games. Chud said this is something he used as a coordinator in Carolina.
“I think the thing with Andrew is, there’s just the thought that we’re never ever out of anything”, punter Pat McAfee said. An AFC South title remains a possibility, but only if they rid themselves of their unpredictable tendencies, beginning with Monday night’s road test against the New York Jets.
Quarterback Andrew Luck insisted the Colts will do whatever it takes. And Adam Vinatieri also missed a 29-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter. “Beat the man in front of you, and we should have a big day”. It’s looking like Rob Chudzinski could again have his full offensive personnel together this week.
THE LINE: The Jets have three first-rounders on their defensive line in Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams, so the Colts’ continually changing offensive line may face its most hard task all season.
“He went through the long injury process, so he’s back now getting healthy”, Bowles said. On that play, Hilton ran right past Steelers cornerback Ross Cockrell and he likely would’ve scored easily had he caught the football.
