First Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Clip Released
A short “TV spot” teaser for the film was released earlier this week to mark tickets for the movie going on sale. The film’s director, Gareth Edwards, will also join the ensemble.
The new film will be a little different from the other Star Wars films due to some elements that will be changed, according to a Variety interview with Lucasfilm executive Kathleen Kennedy. Since Rogue One’s cast was announced (and now that the release date approaches), many have voiced that it seems like a conscious, forced move by Lucasfilm to have yet another film centring around a female. “Our whole [relationship] has changed since this news came out”.
Now we have another Star Wars movie hitting the big screen already, with Rogue One arriving on movie screens around the world in just a matter of weeks. The series will continue with the now untitled Han Solo prequel movie due in 2018. Not only will they be famous simply for being in Star Wars (in fact, they already are).
After getting righteously owned by a lightsaber-wielding Felicity Jones, Fallon introduced a short, unedited clip from Rogue One – the first we’ve ever seen. Another Rogue One-themed level, a virtual reality mission that puts you in the cockpit of an X-Wing, will be available this month for PlayStation 4 owners and require the PlayStatyion VR headset.
Rogue One stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Forest Whitaker, and will open in IMAX 3D across the United Kingdom from Thursday, 15th December.
It is to be noted that when “Star Wars Episode VII” was released past year, it had been a decade since the last “Star Wars” movie and more than three decades since the “Return of the Jedi”.
