Hazard makes notable omissions in title race talk
When asked about next Saturday’s crucial clash against Manchester City, Hazard acknowledged that it would be a hard game for the Blues.
Redknapp, who was speaking as a pundit on BT Sport, said, “I think when they have got a fully fit team, I would not want to be swapping anyone in Chelsea’s best team for Tottenham’s”.
Chelsea fell behind to Christian Eriksen s stunning 11th-minute strike, but equalised through Pedro Rodriguez s exquisite curler and took victory after Victor Moses rammed home Diego Costa s cross.
Chelsea retained their position as league leaders over the weekend after they came from one goal behind, the first goal they’ve conceded in seven games, to hand Tottenham their first defeat of the season in a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge. “We just need to be more consistent”.
“They scored a fantastic goal with a shot, then I liked a lot our reaction a lot”.
He said: “I think he’s the flawless fit for that club”.
The lone Tottenham goal was the first scored in six games of a clean sheet run by Conte’s men. Join the Playing for 90 team! “We are very happy with the win”. That’s massive for us.
“Fortunately Pedro got a lovely goal and we got ourselves back in the game. We’ve got to be ready for Swansea next week, keep pushing and keep trying to improve and reach the levels we know we can”.
“Man City and Liverpool”, Hazard was quoted as saying by Sky Sports when asked to name Chelsea’s main title rivals. We were better, but we lost.
“It is not right to talk about winning the league”, said Conte.
“We are another team compared to (when we played) Liverpool and Arsenal”. We are working a lot.
“At the start of the season I would have signed up for finishing in the top four, but now I’m looking for a wee bit more”.
Under Antonio Conte, however, Moses has developed into one of the Premier League’s rising stars. I hope it will be a good game and if we can win there it will be good.
“Today it wasn’t very easy”.
“We have high confidence, this was another important win”, the Spaniard began, before commenting on how Conte helped initiate the turn-around with a tactical re-think at half-time.
