Injuries: Andrew Luck remains in concussion protocol
It’s a formidable opponent on a great stage Monday night in NY. He still has to go through a full contact practice and get cleared by an independent nuerologist without feeling any more symptoms in order to be cleared for the game.
Indianapolis’ offense was well below their averaging in passing yards with Luck on the sideline in Week 12, as they were held to just 219 passing yards and a season-low seven points.
Luck is presently listed as “probable” on the Colts depth chart. Both squads will be required to release a report with practice participations on Thursday.
GrIgson knows that the Colts can’t allow themselves to look past NY. Right guard Denzelle Good (neck) and receiver T.Y. Hilton (bruised back) also practiced Wednesday. Outside linebacker Trent Cole, who has been on injured reserve, returned to the practice field Monday but has not yet been activated. He also said it was the first time he has been diagnosed with a concussion.
Safety Clayton Geathers (concussion) wore a red jersey as he works his way back through the league protocol.
With five games left, the Colts (5-6) are one game behind division-leader Houston and one-half game behind second-place Tennessee. “Playing is fun. Winning is fun”.
“Any time you see one-on-one (coverage), that’s what you ask for”, Dorsett said.
“We’re all trying to win every game”, Bowles said, “whether we’re trying to get to 8-8 or whether we’re trying to be 16-0”. Chud said this is something he used as a coordinator in Carolina. The Colts went 6-3 in Luck’s absence. After sitting out one game due to a concussion, Luck likely will be under center on Monday night as the visiting Colts attempt to even their record with a date against the floundering New York Jets.
Andrew Luck can certainly make plays, but how will his offensive line hold up against a very impressive Jets defensive line? Luck also has the ability to exit the pocket and pick up rushing yards (246 yards, 1 TD), which is something the Jets defense must be tired of. “There’s no, ‘hey, we’re getting things together, he’s coming along'”.
The Colts actually play on Monday, but nonetheless, this is still great news.
“He looks really good in practice and we would expect him to be as healthy as possible come Monday”.
Run the football. Defend the run.
