Bournemouth v Liverpool: Neil Mellor warns Anfield ace Ben Woodburn
He has things to learn, he’s only 20 years old.
Sakho had hoped that there was still a way back to the first-team after being frozen out at Anfield by Klopp and sent to train with Liverpool’s Under-23 squad. “There needs to be a mixture”, said the German.
As per the Liverpool Echo, Klopp has rebuffed claims on social media that Sakho is in anyway closer to returning to his first-team plans – immediately dismissing such an idea. The first-team squad is here [at Melwood].
“In this moment he is not injured but, of course, he is not match-fit, so now he is collecting minutes with our U23s”.
Klopp, however, ridiculed suggestions that Liverpool would entertain offers for Sturridge or any other player who has contributed to their sensational start to 2016-17 in the winter window.
Bournemouth are likely to pose a different type of challenge to that which Liverpool have faced in recent weeks, according to Dejan Lovren.
“Nothing has changed”, he said.
Sakho made 22 appearances under Klopp last season, and still has four years remaining on his current deal with the club.
Klopp has received a welcome boost with Firmino and Origi’s availability at a time attacking options are limited, but the final selection will hinge on the readiness of vital component, Lallana, who will be afforded maximum opportunity to prove his fitness.
“They have time but they need the time too. A little bit of luck, right attitude, [then] we have a decent player I think”.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes Jordon Ibe has a big future ahead of him as he comes up against his former club Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.
The Belgian worldwide scored his first league goal of the season after replacing the injured Philippe Coutinho in the 34th minute and Klopp says he has been very pleased with Origi’s attitude this season.
Klopp added that he doesn’t “care a second” about the ages of players as long as they “want to develop”, insisting that he has “a young squad in general” and that he enjoys “a lot working with these guys”.
Now, writing for the Liverpool Echo, Mellor has outlined what Woodburn must do to realise his potential.
