Jason Pierre-Paul rehabbing away from New York Giants
Mara told the Post the Giants won’t discuss a long-term deal with Pierre-Paul right now and that while the franchise tag is still on the table the Giants have to examine Pierre-Paul before making any decisions about what to do next. Ever since, there has been radio silence between his camp and the Giants, even after he had his index finger amputated as a result of the accident. “He would have the opportunity to learn the new defense, but more importantly, we have the best training staff in the league here”, Mara said. The report says that the “door hasn’t been closed” for Long signing with the Giants, but Vacchiano writes that he “isn’t in a rush” to sign and will “consider his options”.
“I don’t think JPP is receiving very good advice right now”, Mara told the Post.
“He responded nearly immediately and said that he is going to be fine. I want to be there for him”, Giants coach Tom Coughlin told Sports Illustrated.
A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Pierre-Paul has recorded 286 tackles, 42 sacks and eight forced fumbles over his five seasons.
“I played about five or six games in college with a ball on my hand”, defensive end Robert Ayers Jr. said of a cast he wore for a broken bone at the University of Tennessee. “It’s hard to believe that he couldn’t get here and take care of an very bad lot of issues rather than what they’re doing”.
The bond between the New York Giants and Jason Pierre-Paul has all but, been severed til this point thus far this off-season.
Yeah, he basically looks like he has a club on his hand. “I’ve never done what he’s going to have to do, but I don’t imagine it stopping him from being the JPP we’ve grown to see”.
It’s hard to truly believe that when he won’t even allow team officials or doctors the ability to even see his hand to determine the severity of his injury.

Brady and the players’ union filed their suit Wednesday in Minnesota – but the NFL already had filed papers Tuesday in New York, moments after announcing that Commissioner Roger Goodell upheld the suspension for Brady’s involvement in the use of underinflated footballs in the AFC Championship Game. “I am concerned about him as a young man and anxious to know exactly what he’s dealing with, and then we will know what we’re dealing with”. With camp starting up this week and players reporting on Thursday, the Giants and Manning likely will not complete and agreement on an extension.
