Kane: I want to be at Tottenham “for a long, long time”
It is always knowledge for the players, that they can play in different positions, different tactical systems. The London side have lost both of their home games so far, to leaders Monaco and then second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
Kane, however, could provide the spark Tottenham need.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino added: “The last month has been tough for us and it’s fantastic to discover that feeling again for the games ahead”.
“We can take a lot of positives from this game and make no mistake, we will”, Bilic said. He is a player who is very important for us. “Hopefully he will be decisive on Tuesday”. We know we didn’t play as well as we would have like, so we won’t get too carried away.
“It’s our responsibility to play at that level”.
Rose will give his all for Tottenham against Monaco, knowing that he is suspended for the trip to Chelsea on Saturday after being shown a fifth yellow card of the season against West Ham.
Dembele has been hampered by a niggling foot problem for several weeks and after making his comeback against Arsenal two weeks ago, he was withdrawn in the 72nd minute against West Ham as Pochettino tries to protect his Belgian midfielder.
The 23-year-old, sent back from England duty last weekend in order to build up his fitness, tucked in an 89th-minute cross from Son Heung Min to equalise.
He told Spurs TV: “That is the good thing we need to take out of the game”.
“We will see what will happen, but at the moment I am focused only on Monaco and the other important matches coming up because it is a busy time of the year”.
“In the end, we pushed him but now he’s very happy with the energy and that can help him recover”.
“That’s our idea, our challenge”.
Pochettino has moved to sign players like Victor Wanyama, Moussa Sissoko and Vincent Janssen to ease the burden on his regulars.
“There is nothing to worry about”, Lloris said.
The England worldwide is among the Premier League’s finest players after the past two phenomenal seasons with the Lilywhites, but negotiations have broken down between the club and Kane’s representatives over wage issues.
The 23-year-old’s current deal runs until 2020 and sees him earn nearly half as much as worldwide colleagues Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge – who both take home upwards of £100,000-per-week at Leicester and Liverpool respectively.
