Maybe this game wasn’t a classic, but it was at least in the neighborhood..

The Penn State Nittany Lions are taking on the Wisconsin Badgers tonight in the Big Ten Championship Game. We have the two divisional champions playing head to head here today for the conference championship, and they won their division and they should be respected for that.

It’s really up to ESPN- they’ll ultimately decide when we got from four to eight as they’re the ones who are paying the bills on college football these days.

First, if Washington wins, I just can’t see the committee turning back a 12-1 conference champ from a Power Five league in favor of a second team from the Big Ten. Though the Badgers are 23rd in the nation in pass defense (191.3 yards allowed per game), Justin Wilcox’s squad is fifth in the nation in pass efficiency (97.7). Several conference champions are going to be evaluated, including the one out of this conference, the one out of the Pac-12, the one out of the Big 12, the ACC. Big bowl games are back in play. They also got a 12-yard fumble return for a touchdown by linebacker Ryan Connolly after McSorley failed to cover up a bad snap, a score that made it 21-7.

Specifically, kudos to Wischusen for appropriately pointing out Penn State’s late-game touchdowns as an example of the Nittany Lions “keeping their foot on the gas” and a bit of payback for Michigan State doing pretty much the same thing vs. Penn State in 2015.

Most signs showed support for the Nittany Lions or Badgers, but one fan snuck a random reference to the TV show “Friends” into the shot. And in Saturday night’s Big Ten championship game, Clement could play a major role in the Badgers coming away with a victory.

With the University of Wisconsin and Penn State battling for a potential spot in the College Football Playoff, this year’s Big Ten Championship is one of the marquee events in college football.

A fan base wondering if coach James Franklin would ever beat a ranked team.

“Going into this game, it’s definitely big for us”, Peavy said.

He is probably right.

Ticket sales are reportedly down for the college football conference championship games that are being played this weekend.

If Penn State can do that, it looks like a trip to the Rose Bowl will be the best the Lions can do.
