Jaguars rule out RB Ivory, WR Hurns; TE Thomas doubtful

Lynch also started for Siemian, who was dealing with an injured non-throwing shoulder at the time, back on October 9 against Atlanta and the results were pretty solid, as he completed 23 of 35 passes for 223 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

So, expect to see Lynch in the shotgun a lot Sunday. Trevor Siemian showed off his arm, connecting with his receivers for three touchdowns and no interceptions, but the reason the pass game was so successful was partly due to the run game.

Another run play up the middle netted another two yards. Lynch has had a few months to study and to practice, but it doesn’t all come at once.

Lynch has started one game, plus made a relief appearance for Siemian during Week Four versus the Buccaneers when he left with a shoulder injury. The Jags have permitted just 15 touchdowns through the air, just over one per game.

Lynch has played roughly a game and a half this season.

Improvement is harder to gauge with limited game repetitions and closed practices.

Most of Lynch’s passes in the preseason were to either Jordan Taylor or Mose Frazier. Fisher, who is in the previous year of his contract with no guarantees of an extension, got into a public spat with Dickerson this week over the former star’s criticism of the Rams on his local radio show.

Star LB Von Miller leads league with 12 ½ sacks and is one of six players in NFL history with five double-digit sack seasons in first six years. If the Jags are able to hold onto the football, though, and not give a rookie extra chances to break through, that puts them in a position at least to have success. If Lynch can’t keep the ball on the field the defense will become winded and their performance will decrease. “Day in and day out, the more reps that I get with the offense and the more reps that I get with the receivers and the O-line, the more comfortable I feel”. A defeat to Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday has placed their postseason playoff hopes at risk and the franchise definitely know a victory is critical when they play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.
